
Hedvig Bergsaker is an associate in Kvale’s employment law department. Hedvig holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and specializes in both individual and collective employment law.
In the autumn of 2025, Hedvig wrote her master's thesis at Kvale. Her thesis concerned the requirement of just cause for dismissal due to the employee's circumstances, with a particular focus on the development of the proportionality assessment and the employer’s duty to reassign, as well as the relationship to the Civil Servants Act § 20.
Alongside her studies, Hedvig worked as a Higher Executive Officer at the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, where she handled requests for access to documents. Through this work, she gained experience with both the legal framework and the practical application of the right of access. In addition, Hedvig has gained experience as a trainee in various law firms.
At the beginning of 2026, Hedvig completed a secondment with Virke - The Federation of Norwegian Enterprise, which is the principal organization for the trade and service industries. During the secondment, she gained insight into and experience from one of the Norway's largest employer organizations. At Virke, Hedvig worked on a wide range of issues an tasks within both collective and individual employment law. The secondment has provided her with valuable practical experience in employment law matters.
