The two trade associations Medtek Norge and Lab Norge has decided to merge and become Melanor as of January 1, 2019.
The current CEO of Medtek Norway, Atle Hunstad, will become the new CEO of Melanor. The new organization will encompass about 150 member companies with a joint turnover of about twelve billion NOK. The member companies are established Norwegian and international suppliers, which together employ around 3,000 employees in Norway.
Melanor`s members cover medical supplies, medical technology, laboratory equipment, welfare technology, and aids for people with disabilities. Customers are industry, public and private health institutions in primary and specialist health services, universities and other research institutions, NAV, HELFO and the authorities.
Medtek Norway and Lab Norway have for a long time collaborated. They jointly aim to "get even more power in the effort to highlight the value contributions of the established Norwegian and foreign member companies" and to be able to be "stronger in the dialogue and in collaboration with key decision makers". One of Melanor's main tasks will be to create more visibility and good meeting arenas for member companies, customers, partners, authorities, politicians and other organisations. "We will also provide our members with broader expertise and support", says Hunstad.
