Tonje Liavaag

Tonje Liavaag work in our employment and pensions department. She also has experience working for our tax department, with focus on business sector taxation and personal taxation.

Liavaag has substantial knowledge with administrative handling of complaint cases, and she possesses competence with procedures before the courts.

She obtained her license to practice law in 2011.

 

Stine Eriksrød

Stine Eriksrød has extensive experience of dealing with legal disputes in the areas of real estate and construction, liability (corporate, professional, board and product), general contract law and damages claims. She specialises in disputes concerning the purchase and sale of real estate and disputes arising during real estate projects or after contract execution.

Stine litigates cases before the district and appeal courts on behalf of consumers, construction clients, consultants and contractors, and assists private parties and businesses with proceedings before different complaints bodies. Stine also has substantial experience of company and bankruptcy law and the administration of estates from working as a bankruptcy and restructuring project manager for several years. This knowledge has allowed Stine to become a trusted legal adviser on a broad range of commercial disputes.

Stine obtained her license to practice law in 2015.

Siri Terese Berge

Siri Terese Berge is an senior associate in our oil, gas and energy team and works primarly with counselling, negotiations and dispute resolutions in regards to energy and offshore projects.

Siri has specialises on contractual issues, including charter parties, fabrication contracts and EPC(I) contracts.

Siri obtained her license to practise law in 2015.

 

Preben Berge Helverschou

Preben Berge Helverschou is part of our oil, gas and shipping group. He primarily advises clients in negotiations and disputes within offshore, shipping and marine insurance.

He has particular experience advising clients and handling disputes related to charterparties and other contracts of carriage, inter alia within the OSV-segment.

Helverschou also has experience advising clients with marine casualties, arrests, interlocutory matters, asset securing, and litigation.

Preben obtained his license to practice law in 2013.

Pernille Brusdal

Pernille Brudal has over seven years’ experience as an associate at Kvale. She primarily advises on restructuring and insolvency, employment law and pensions.

Pernille specialises in corporate and group restructurings, advising both creditors and debtors on issues related to financial agreements, provision of security and legal charges in particular. She also deals with insolvency matters and has administered a number of estates in bankruptcy.

Further, Pernille has extensive employment-law experience from regularly advising on collective and individual employment matters. She advises both employers and employees, and is often engaged to manage downsizing processes. Pernille advises on all phases and aspects of employment relationships, from signature of an employment contract to amendment of work responsibilities, working hours, sick leave follow-up, whistleblowing and bonus schemes, as well as negotiation of severance packages, assessment of grounds for dismissal and workforce reductions.

Pernille’s broad combination of specialisms enables her to provide expert assistance to undertakings needing to make significant financial, structural and workforce changes.

Pernille is a regular speaker on financial and employment-related topics. She has also authored a number of articles in the employment field in recent years, including on employee dismissal and social dumping. She received her practising certificate in 2014.

Marit Aaberg

Marit Aaberg specializes in EU/EEA and competition law with experience in regulations governing public procurement and state aid. She assists public principals with the implementation of procurement and suppliers with participation in tenders. She also assists parties in disputes for KOFA and the courts.

Marit has broad experience in the field of state aid rules, and advices public and private sector. She assists parties in cases involving ESA, in addition to giving lectures and courses within the regulations for public procurement and public aid.

Aaberg acts as a legal advisor in a variety of sectors and industries, including real estate, energy, IT/telecommunications, the health sector and transportation industry.

 

Mads Dahl Karlstad

Mads Dahl Karlstad is a part of our oil, gas and shipping department. He primarily advises clients on a wide range of shipping and offshore related matters, as well as renewable energy matters. Mads acts for public and private companies, and works with some of the biggest companies in the above mentioned industries.

Mads has substantial experience with preparation and completing agreements, including charter-parties, contract of carriage, fabrication contracts, EPC(I) contracts, drilling contracts, water fall lease agreements and agreements with property owners. He also advices on insurance matters, including marine insurance.

Mads also assists with transactions and disputes.

He obtained his license to practice law in 2015.

 

Lilly Kathrin Relling

Lilly Relling works in our oil, gas and shipping department. She assists clients, both Norwegian and international, in commercial law, and has substantial experience advising participants within the shipping- and offshore industry.

She has broad experience advising on carrying out contracts, including charter parties, fabrication contracts and other commercial agreements. Relling also has experience from the ordinary court and arbitration, including substantial experience with arrests and other asset securing.

Lilly is a member and National Representative of the global lawyers and in-house counsels network AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers).

Kaia Bugge Fougner

Kaia Bugge Fougner specialises in intellectual property law, marketing law and competition law. She has a broad IP law practice encompassing copyright, protection and enforcement of trademarks and design rights, and the development of contracts and IP strategies. Kaia has extensive marketing law experience, including from cases raising advertising and good business practice issues, particularly in connection with copycat products. Kaia also has thorough competition law experience.

Kaia speaks regularly at conferences and seminar, has served as an external examiner at the University of Oslo and the University of Bergen, and is the author of several publications.

Kaia has previously worked as a deputy judge at Sandefjord District Court, as a legal examiner at the Norwegian Board of Appeal for Industrial Property Rights and as general commercial counsel for a multinational company. She was granted a Norwegian licence to practise in 2010.

John Paulsen

John Paulsen works primarily with litigation and disputes within Kvale’s oil and gas sector and cases in regards to building and construction. He has extensive experience within this field and assists both small and large enterprises and private entrepreneurs and clients.
