Intern at Kvale

Are you a student and would like to get a taste of life as trainee lawyer?

As an intern with us, you will gain an insight into what it is like to work as a trainee lawyer with Kvale. You will be given a variety of exciting assignments from several of our practice areas. You may even have the chance to participate in a court hearing, and all the preparatory work which that involves.

The placement generally lasts for five weeks, and we take in interns throughout the year.

On their first day, all interns will be allocated a permanent mentor, who will follow them through the whole five weeks. As an intern, you will receive professional guidance from skilled attorneys, and you will – of course – be invited to join in all our social events. We can promise you a steep learning curve!

The placement concludes with a discussion where we evaluate the experience. We are keen for the evaluation to go both ways, so that we can provide each other with specific feedback and input.

How to apply:

Please send your application to HR at We ask you to upload CV and an up-to-date transcript of your grades. In the application please tell us when you would like to start your internship.

We receive applications and engage interns on a rolling basis through the year, but it pays to give plenty of advance notice. Places are filled months ahead of time.

We also reserve internships for candidates we meet at the three universities’ career days.

Writing space

We offer writing space and bursaries to clever and ambitious law students writing a dissertation in connection with their master’s degree.

Our lawyers have extensive experience as dissertation supervisors, and we give you the chance to receive ongoing feedback and guidance from the relevant legal practice. We can also help you with issues and questions relating to a deeper elaboration of the chosen topic.

You will get your own office and access to printing/copying facilities. You are also very welcome to take part in Kvale’s social events during the time you spend with us.
