Gry Bratvold

Gry Bratvold has comprehensive international experience as an advisor to the oil and gas and offshore industries, through tenders, negotiations and advising on ongoing projects. She has assisted on a range of international offshore projects, of which several FPSO-and subsea projects.

She also has extensive experience in sale and purchase of vessels, and in developing anti-corruption programs.

Øystein Løken

Øystein Løken is the Managing Partner of Kvale. He works primarily with capital marked transactions, mergers and acquisitions, contract law, corporate law and exchange law. He has substantial experience in assisting companies or their owners in transactions both within and outside the stock exchange.

Øystein assists companies and their owners in a wide specter of commercial fields, such as start-up of enterprises, negotiations and entering into different kind of agreements, as joint-venture or shareholders agreements, investments agreements, financing or emissions, integration of businesses by merger etc. and by sales and buying processes with biddings, due diligence and negotiations.  He has assisted a number of foreign businesses in establishing in Norway.

Øystein has previous experience as legal adviser in public sector activities, as deputy judge and as lawyer in the law firm BA-HR before he came to Kvale in 2001.

Yngve Bustnesli

Yngve Bustnesli started as a partner in the oil and gas department in 2009. He has in-depth knowledge of the oil and gas industry, and is recognized as one of the leading Norwegian practitioners within petroleum law, joint operating agreements, projects (including fabrication contracts), license transactions, due diligences, offshore contracts (e.g. seismic contracts, drilling contracts, rig hire agreements, tie-in agreements, unitisation agreements), gas sales contracts, decommissioning of offshore installations and health, safety, environment issues.

Bustnesli has been the lawyer in charge at several complex projects on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS), and sources say he scores high by both having an extensive experience with the regulatory framework and the various contracts used in the petroleum industry.

He is the co-author of the leading Norwegian textbooks in petroleum law, and has also written various petroleum law articles in international publications.

Trygve Norum

Trygve Norum is specialized in transactions and corporate law.  He works primarily with acquisition and sale of companies and businesses for Norwegian and foreign investors, private equity, merger and demerger, start-up, structuring and restructuring of enterprises as well as complex corporate structures and owner constellations. Trygve also possess experience working with securities and stock exchange legal issues, prospects, capital collecting etc. in the corporate and capital markets.

Trygve has experience and background from other corporate law areas, i.a. competition law, license agreements, distribution agreements and other larger contracts issues.  

A substantial part of Trygve’s work is directed against multinational enterprises and cross-border projects.

Trygve is co-author in corporate law publications and has written various articles. He is a lecturer at courses and seminars on corporate law, transactional law and competition law themes.  

Tom Hugo Ottesen

Tom Hugo Ottesen Heads Kvale’s restructuring, insolvency and investigation team. He has particular experience in (re)financing, credit security, credit recovery, insolvency and restructuring of hard pressed companies. He is also an experienced arbitrator and is occasionally appointed as arbitrator in insolvency-related disputes.

Ottesen is frequently appointed as bankruptcy administrator by Oslo Bankruptcy Court and is appointed as administrator in a number of the largest bankruptcies in Norway each year. Ottesen holds several directorships. He regularly lectures and participates in panel discussions on key emerging areas of the law in bankruptcy, restructuring & insolvency. He holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and is ranked as a leading lawyer within his fields of competence, both by Legal 500 and Chambers.

Thomas S. Farhang

Thomas S. Farhang has extensive experience in the fields of M&A, tax and litigation. He has litigated several high impact cases before the ordinary and arbitration courts, particularly matters related to transfer pricing.  

Thomas graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1995 and was licensed to practice in 1998. He became a partner in Kvale in 2001. Thomas was admitted to the Norwegian Supreme Court in 2012.

Thomas Piro

Thomas Piro has substantioal experience as a lawyer in the field of restructuring, insolvency and credit assurance. He is regularly appointed as trustee for bankruptcy estates by Oslo Court of Probate and Enforcement. He provides legal assistance regarding purchase and sale of businesses and coorporations and provides gerenal business law advice.

Thomas obtained his license to practice law in 2000.

Susanne Schneider

Susanne Schneider has a substantial national and international experience in assisting as adviser in acquisition and sale of companies and businesses, capital market transactions and general corporate law issues. Susanne also provides legal assistance to industrial-, service- and trade enterprises in operating capacity regarding production-, distribution-, delivery- and licence agreements.

Stine Dalenhag Snertingdalen

Stine D. Snertingdalen is specialized in banking and finance, as well as restructuring and insolvency. She assists financial institutions in their effort to minimize their loss in problem cases, and in negotiating and drafting national and international credit agreements, intercreditor agreements and security documentation.

Snertingdalen furthermore assists companies and advices board members in the restructuring and refinancing of the businesses. She is regularly appointed as administrator/trustee of bankruptcy estates. Snertingdalen is in this way experienced in looking at a situation from the angles of the different parties affected when a company encounters economic problems. Snertingdalen is appointed by the Justice Department as member of the Norwegian Advisory Council of Bankruptcy, and was one out of four lawyers in the reference group working towards possible changes in the debt negotiation regulations in the Bankruptcy Act. She is a member of the International Insolvency Institute.

Snertingdalen also works with investigations and has i.a. been the leader of the investigation of financial misconducts in the municipally owned company, Oslo Vei AS. She holds lectures at a regular basis for Center for Continuing Legal Education (Juristenes Utdanningssenter), finance institutions and auditors.

Steinar Nundal

Steinar Nundal has substantial experience as a lawyer and has a Master in Business and Economics.  He works primarily with regular counselling and transaction counselling to Norwegian and foreign businesses. He specializes in capital taxation, VAT, accounting, and corporate law. Steinar  assists companies in issues regarding yearly tax assessment and with audits and complaints.
