Cookies and privacy

A cookie is a small data file which will be saved on your computer by the websites you are visiting.  Cookies are among other things used to give users access to various functions on the website and is a common method to log which sites are being visited on a website.

The revised Electronic Communications Act came into force 1 July 2013 and has a new regulation regarding the terms connected to storage of information in communication equipment – the so called “cookie section”, cf. §2-7b in the Electronic Communications Act.  Storage of information and management of these information is not allowed unless the user is informed about this, and has given his consent to which information are stored, what the purpose of the management is and who is managing the information.
